Laughlin is a hop, skip, and a jump from where I live. 99 miles from my driveway to be precise. A stop for gas in Searchlight along the way was simply an excuse to get off the bike and stretch our legs, while I can make it to Laughlin on a full tank I'd rather not be bothered with refueling while enjoying the event.

The Laughlin River Run
Laughlin is a small tourist attraction town just across the Colorado River/Arizona border near Bullhead City. Las Vegas is a mere 90 mile trek north, and Lake Havasu is also nearby. The River Run is hands down the largest motorcycle event held in the western United States. For the 20th Anniversary River Run, over 80,000 bikers showed up for the event, up from last year's 60K attendance.
